Cute Town Scene & More! The Rookies Entry
This is my entry for The Rookies 2024! It showcases a stylized environment, human character, and a creature. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work.
Breakdown:
First I used Blender to create a basic blockout of the environment, making sure it matched the reference to capture the overall scene accurately.
After refining the geometry further, I began UV unwrapping the scene.
I created hand-painted textures directly within Blender, meticulously crafting details to match the reference.
I adjusted lighting to complement the scene, enhancing overall atmosphere and mood.
I used Blender's texture node editor to create an animated river texture.
I then animated the foliage, and rendered the final scene to showcase the polished 3D environment.
The reference I used is by @Kemineko on Twitter.
Character

I made this character as part of my coursework at CGSpectrum.
I began in Maya by blocking out the basic forms and then refining the topology and shape.
Then I modelled the clothing, shoes and hair.
I then UV unwrapped the character and textured in Substance Painter.
I rendered the character using Maya.

I made this Axolotl creature as part of my course work at CGSpectrum.
I started in Zbrush, blocking out the shape and then refining and adding details.
I then brought it into Maya to retopologize and UV unwrap.
Texturing was done using Substance Painter.
Rendered using Maya.
Thanks for checking out my work!
