Silent Narration Through Art

As a narrative designer, I like to create environments that have a cohesive feeling as well as a story being told. Jaki's Cocktail Bar is no exception. The placement of various assets and lighting makes for a relaxed, but worn out story telling of a performance that was attended by some rowdy, but respectful patrons. Some people that attended had more fun while others were treated to the worse night of their life that they may or may not remember... Liquor can be a catalyst for many occurrences, whether bad or good.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

This Transition shows the progress from test textures to mid-fidelity to final. The photos also shows the constant growth of various assets being added in and the light as well as the ambiance being changed throughout the creation of the environment. In the end, the final renders included more smoke to highlight the cigar bar aesthetic. The lighting was used to get emphasis on the stage where the piano and microphone sit as hero assets.
