Round of applause for our sponsors

Hey! I'm Caitlin Crooker.

I am a senior Motion Media Design student currently enrolled at The Savannah College of Art and Design. I am graduating this spring with my B.F.A. and pursuing a career in the creative realm. For my whole life, I have been a visual communicator, dedicating years to mastering and learning new and improved ways to use art and design as a vessel for information. It is my dream, to be an art/creative director leading a team of talented creatives in creating something equally effective as beautiful.

Rebellion to Revelations:

A CoMotion 2024 Pitch by Lauren Neu & Caitlin Crooker

Every year, MOMElove puts on one of the largest student-run motion conferences in the nation, CoMotion. My good friend of mine Lauren Neu and I teamed up to create a pitch that encapsulated the diversity and history of mark-making. We were tasked to create a series of style frames, logos, type treatments, and mock-ups to best demonstrate the brand identity we've created.

From June 2023 through late October of 2023, we spent countless hours ideating, designing, and collaborating. Each frame went through countless revisions where we solidified the style and feel.

For each frame, we used a combination of illustrative techniques and layers in photoshop. For some parts we resorted to digital collage sourcing images of art world giants like Salvator Dali and Frida Khalo.

After weeks of revisions, we ended on this final product. Each design and color was chosen with intent. For more details and the full brand package, here is the process book.

Without Darkness

A Capstone Project  by Caitlin Crooker ( COMING SOON )

Recently I have been working on my senior capstone. This will be a cinematography-based abstract piece relying on imagery and music to create a feeling of catharsis. My overall goal with this project is to pay homage to my experience as a person. I have always struggled with my mental health, and life constantly feels like a race to the light at the end of the tunnel. Being in college, I have had such a wonderful experience. I can finally say that I have hit the big sigh of relief.

Here is a brief storyboard and images captured during my recording sessions.

So far, I am still in the early rough-cut stages. This process book will show test shots, images, ideation, and mood edits that portray the look and feel I am going for.

SCADfitness & Campus Recreation

For the last three years, I have worked at SCADfitness and Campus Recreation as a Marketing Assistant. I was and am in charge of creating captivating flyers, invigorating highlight reels, and collaborating on fitness-related events.

Utilizing SCAD branding I elevated the brand bringing in 1000+ followers with energetic, creative, and community-oriented posts. After all, the gym should be welcoming and is meant for everyone. I wanted to bring in as many people as possible while maintaining SCADs positive values on diversity and inclusion.

Title Sequences

I adore title sequencing. I hope to direct award-winning titles one day, drawing inspiration from designers like Hazel Baird & Kyle Cooper.

One of my favorite books of all time is The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. For this fan-made title sequence, I solely used stock footage collected from sites like Pexels and Adobe Stock. My concept was to address the idea of how the tabloids alter the way we view celebrities and their relationships. Using a mirror and stripping away the color we get a raw, yet fractured way of seeing.

Another favorite book series of mine is Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. As a child, I was entranced with the illustration and ink work within the pages. For this sequence, I wanted to achieve an inky look using a combination of practical ink effects as well as stock footage of different rural settings and ominous settings.

For Fun!
