These two pieces were created in my time at Champlain College. Both were based on concept pieces that I interpreted through my own visual style.

This project was created using UE5.3 as a part of my final semester at Champlain College. Inspired by the work of Patrick Faulwetter and Riot Games, I wanted to create a single gorgeous shot that both replicated a concept as well as I could, and pushed my skills to their absolute limit in the time that I had.

This environment uses many different buildings each created specifically to match the concept as well as possible, as well as a modular set of building pieces for the sections of the city in the background. Tiling textures and baked textures were used for various different elements of the scene, as well as many decals for accenting the dramatic lighting I was looking for.

All of the cliffs were sculpted in Zbrush, with the rest of the assets being created in Maya. The project as a whole has taken me about 4 months, although I started it back in June of 2023. The original blockout from that time can still be seen in the first progress shot!

This piece was also created using the same tools, and rendered in Unreal Engine 5. This was my first foray into a stylized game ready environment, and I'm still really happy with how it's turned out. The mixing of decals, hand painted textures and a custom foliage pipeline was a really fun process to figure out, and it laid the foundation for a style that I really enjoy making, and inspired a lot of the look of my above piece.

The concept for this piece was created by Jordan Grimmer, and I'm really excited to have seen such a cool concept come to life through my own style. I hope to be able to continue to grow my portfolio with more pieces exploring this style and many others.
