Boop!
Hey folks! I only just found out about this awesome contest! trying to speed ahead to make it before the contest closes. Here is Boop!
Update - 24 Nov 2022
I think I'm finally happy with the composition and lighting and ready to call Boop finished. It was a little bit of a struggle to balance the butterfly in front of the eye and have it read well but hopefully pushing the chromatic on it helps somewhat. I did consider adding some supporting butterflies to help with this but didn't want to crowd the scene or take away from Boop. I also tried other colors but they just didn't feel right.
Anyway, here's the overall pipeline that was used if anyone's interested:
-Rough Concept in Photoshop
-Block-Out/Modelling in Zbrush
-UVs/Rigging in Maya
-Texturing in Substance Painter
-Glitter Material in Substance Designer (not sure how well this reads in the final but a lot of fun to make)
-Lighting/Rendering in Substance Stager and Marmoset Toolbag
Thanks to the Rookies and Adobe for hosting the challenge! It was a lot of fun

Update: decided to push the Chromatic Aberration on the butterfly and hopefully get a bit more contrast between the Robot's eyes as I felt it blended too closely together
Update - 21 Nov 2022
Quick turn around. I still need to tweak a few things before finishing it up
Update - 21 Nov 2022
Quick Rig in Maya and posed. Decided I wanted to add something and went with the idea of a butterfly
I wanted to tie this into sci-fi somehow and went with this kind of glowy circuit board look
Update - 19 Nov 2022
decided to go with some pink purple colours for the paint job and afterwards decided to add in some glitter into the paint too. Hope you like!

Playing with some eye shapes. I think I might stay with the original design but I'll keep experimenting to see if anything sticks
