For the Spinner project in Blade Runner 2049, Antoine Rabarot modeled the vehicle, and I worked on textures, lighting and integration.

Round of applause for our sponsors

This project required a lot of work to find the right references and dimensions, as well as time to fine-tune every detail. Once the 3D environment was created, we filmed with a Black Magic 4k to integrate a friend.

REFERENCES

Here are my references (internet images, 3D images).

Spinner integration.

Viewport from 3ds max software showing the construction of the scene, using the rush to correctly place my 3d.

Render a scene entirely in 3d to integrate the Spinner.

Viewport from 3ds max software.

I integrated the spinner into an image with a totally different feel to what I was doing.

I recreated the lighting that was in the original image in my 3d scene and roughly recreated the buildings around it to get consistent shadows.

Same type of integration with an image taken this time from the film Blade runner 2049 where I integrated the Spinner in 3d.

I took a photo of the filming location before the shoot and integrated the Spinner to give me a quick idea of how our vehicle would interact with the environment.

Thank you for taking the time to read this far and for your interest in this project. I hope you've enjoyed it!
