Dune Explosion Simulation
Content
Simulation of destruction with debris and smoke adapted to the movement of the fracture and its pieces.
The fracture, explosion, animation of the ornithopter, and generation of the desert were done in Houdini and exported to Unreal Engine 5.4.
Using Niagara Fluids, smoke was created based on the position of the fractured pieces.
The desert is created procedurally in Houdini and exported as a heightmap texture to create a landscape in Unreal Engine.
The animations of the ornithopter adapt to its movement, rotation, and position.
All parameters and settings for the simulation, fracture, explosion, and generation are exposed and organized.
Everything has been combined in a sequence in Unreal Engine to generate the final video.
Ornithopter
Adaptation of wing position to different flight conditions such as tilt, force, or speed.
Desert
Destruction
Greater subdivision of fractures at the point of impact
