A young girl named Annie begins to physically unravel as her stress continues to rise. With the help of a loved one, will she be able to piece herself back together? Created by Anabella Gonzalez, this film combines CG and stop motion.
Why Aqui?
In Spanish, aqui means here. Here could mean multiple places for Annie. Here is where the thoughts live; here is where she feels stuck, but here can also encompass those around you. Here are the people that care about you. Aqui also sounds like the English phrase "a key." In Annie's case, reaching out to her sister was a key to finding some relief. While she may not be totally ok, she has begun the journey to get there.

Stop Motion Shots
The Filming Process
I started by creating my previs entirely in CG. Knowing I had tech limitations with stop motion, I still wanted to make visually appealing shots, even if they required a bit more work. Once my CG cameras were set, I matched my stop motion character and my DSLR to my previs as closely as possible. Dragonframe allowed me to overlay my previs to ensure the positioning was correct.
