Hello! I'm Katherine, a 24 year old about-to-be graduate from Staffordshire University. Here are some of my proudest works from the past year.

Sanguine Ex Machina

An environment concept project dedicated to paying tribute to some of my favourite pieces of sci fi media!

In the distant future, the survival of humanity hangs by a thread. On a planet far from our own, exists an unholy facility where blood and machine meet to create a stronger, superior human race; splicing our human DNA with living metal to ensure our survival for ages to come.

Conceptual Process

There was a lot of bouncing between 2D and 3D to create all the elements of the environment.

3D Asset Callouts

Keyframes

Too Late

A series of keyframes I illustrated, based on a short prompt about a woman approaching a shady back alley to get to a Detective's office, before collapsing with a bloodied cloakroom ticket.

Instead of interpreting it as a sort of stereotypical classic noir murder mystery, I wanted to put a sci-fi, cyberpunk twist on it.

For the ideation of the keyframes, I used photobashing techniques to try to get as close to realism as I could! Since I typically work in 3D and aim for mostly realism, it's only fitting my preliminary work is as well.

Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea

Reimagined as a game level! This project features parts of the submarine from Jules Verne's novel, but with the intention of being made for production as an RPG game with stealth elements.

Thank you for reading!

And a personal thank you to all my peers and tutors this past year. Much has been learnt, and much more is yet to be learnt!

You'll be able to find all my upcoming and past work on Artstation
