Iguana and Prisoner-a love story?
I had a term time for this project which was quite short because I also had other Assignments going on, but it made also a lot of fun. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
I had three weeks to create this project. I choose to create a marine Iguana which is a very rare animal to find. They are the only kind of Iguana, which live underwater. I was responsible for every aspect except foliage.
At first i started gathering references, which was quite difficult, because they are not many pictures portraying them in a good way. These were the most helpfull ones.
I started modelling the main body which was quite strange, because the Iguana looked quite funny with no scales
To create the displacement map I projected textures from texturing xyz in mari and then did an oversculpt in ZBrush. I sculpted the bigger scales by hand to match my main reference as good as possible.
I projected and color corrected pictures of stones to get a good amount of color variation. I also projected parts of my main reference and overpainted it to match my main reference as good as possible.
For this project I sculpted Hands, feet and helped out with some parts of the body. I also created the displacement map and the textures. It was a team project and it made a lot of fun. But I only had a week time for texturing wich wasnt enough I would say.
This was quite challenging, because I didnt understand at all the anatomy of hands and feet, but with some trail and error it somehow worked out.
I started the texturing by projecting some images of naked man, then I painted over them to give him a more demon-like appearance. Then afterwards I added more and more deceases and dirt which was quite disgusting, but made also a lot of fun in a weird way. My Node tree could have beem cleaner.
Thank you for your time :)
