Joshua Popplewell Graduate Motion Graphics Showreel

Hi there! My name is Joshua Popplewell, a soon to be 2D graduate from the University of Hertfordshire specializing  in motion graphics . Here is a showreel of some of my best work throughout my time at university. I'd like to thank all my friends and lecturers who helped me hone in on my After Effects skills throughout the duration of this course.

Here is a process of the iterations I did for a shot in my graduate film. I wasn't happy with the style of the first one so I kept working on it until I was satisfied with the final image. 

One of the freelance credits i did was for La Maupin. They wanted a cut-out/vector style that Incorporated the overall style of their film. This project was challenging at times due to the sheer volume of people on this project. Timing needed to be perfect so that everyone who worked on this film got their moment in the credits. It was a very cathartic feeling seeing the final version especially when I look back at the original concepts. I learned so much from this project and I'm eternally grateful that I was given the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful film. 

Here are some concepts for my graduate film To The Moon about a scientist who builds a rocket to reunite with his partner on the moon.
