I am Gemma Vilà, I'm finishing my VFX master's at FX Barcelona Film School. This is my entry for The Rookies Award 2024.

Carromato

This is my favourite modeling Project inspired in the classic medieval trade cart. It was made in Maya, textured in Substance Painter and composited in Nuke.

Casa de Papel - Intro Recreation

This Project was my first introduction to Houdini interface. In it I focused on the camera movement and Lightning but the main challenge were the animated textures that I have never done before. 

So, it was quite a journey, but I enjoy every step on it.

Houdini POP Rain

This was my first project doing proper simulation in Houdini with Pops, the main challenge was in the Technical part were the collisions of the raindrops in the umbrella, but I think I resolve it quite well.

The thing that I enjoy the most was doing the Layout and lookdev part, where my main reference was a Japanese house garden.

Everything was done in Houdini, Rendered in Mantra and composed in Nuke. The assets were retrieved from Quixel Bridge

Houdini Flips River

This Project was the most challenging for me because all the technical part about Flips . I had many problems with some nodes that I even had to change Houdini version. Besides all my technical problems, I achieve a very well looking river with a nice flow.
