Germaine Lim's Portfolio
Hello, I am Germaine, a 3rd year Animation and Visual Effects Student. These are some of my works from school!
Bartender Bot
A realistic 3D render of a robot
This is my attempt to recreate a realistic robot using MAYA and Adobe Substance Painter
Throughout this process of creation, I enjoyed creating and learning how to create this realistic robot render while integrating it into the background plate, recreating the lighting in MAYA as well. Overall, I am pleasant with how it turned out.

Curiosity
A stylised textured 3D render of a robot chasing butterflies out of curiosity when adventuring in the forest
This is my attempt to recreate a stylised textured scene using MAYA and Adobe Substance Painter, using the same robot model from the previous work
The style I was trying to recreate is children's book illustrations where they have painterly strokes such as paint splatters and crayon strokes, bright colours and as well as a very cute and homey feel.
Throughout this process of creation, I thoroughly enjoyed researching and learning how to recreate the style by using various methods in substance painter and also learning from the challenges that I have encountered along the way such as some of the texture maps not being able to be seen when it was rendered out. Overall I am very happy and satisfied with how it turned out.

Astrologist Character Sculpt
This character sculpt was done in Zbrush
Throughout this process of creation, I enjoyed sculpting this character as it was a challenge for me. It had many intricate details and it was also my first time sculpting in Zbrush. It helped me to get used to the interface and tools used. Overall, I am satisfied with my first character sculpt and it made me excited to sculpt more in the future

Robot Model
This robot model was done in MAYA
Throughout this process of creation, I was pleased with how the model looked in the end as it was my first time modelling something more complicated in MAYA. I focused a lot on making sure the model looked like the concept art and also focused on getting good topology. Overall, still satisfied with the model.
