Continuing the creative path

My 2nd year of ArchViz studies at Yrgo mainly involved internships. Both were at a small architectural office near Gothenburg, which had no prior visualizer and used simple renders and hand-drawn concept sketches. It was a great experience, pushing me to learn new computer skills and solve problems independently.

Villas for client

During my internship at the architect's office, I produced these images for a client who wanted to sell land with villas drawn by the architect to be built by the client. There were two properties and they wanted two house options, one single-story, and one 1 1/2-story.

Making the surroundings as close as possible to the real site was important as they wished for the potential buyers to get a feel of how the site would look when finished. The light portrays where the sun would fall on a summer evening, a great time to enjoy the sunset and views on the deck.

The houses and surroundings were modeled and textured in 3ds Max, using Vray. I had semi-finished plans for the houses but had to do my own research to build the terrain with correct height differences. I used Chaos Scatter with assets from Chaos Cosmos to create the surroundings.

I also made an interior for one of the villas using finished furniture and appliance models, but the kitchen itself is completely modeled by me. The materials and furnishing style was chosen by the architects. See 360 view below.

Some post processing was made in Photoshop.

Camera match

A school project before the internship was to add or replace an existing building in a photograph using 3D. I decided to add an indoor common area between two apartment buildings close to our campus. I raised the added building off the ground, creating a tunnel to keep existing yard access and bike storage underneath. Modeling and texturizing were done in 3ds Max and some post-editing including image extension with AI (and some manual cleanup) in Photoshop.

Photo scan

Another school project was to 3D-scan an object, import it in a 3D program to clean it up, and then render an image.  I used RealityScan on Android to capture an old heirloom vase (see raw scan below), 3ds Max to clean it up and create a studio setting to render, and Photoshop for some final touches.
