I decided to look into the real life story of U-977 this gave me an interesting backstory to link back to my environment.
U-977 was a German U-boat that escaped to Argentina after the Germans surrendered to the Allies, there are theories that U-977 and U-530 may have been carrying Nazi high command and even some claims that Hitler was on board. Although there is little evidence to back these claims it gives me an interesting story element to explore.
I decided to have an abandoned U-boat deep inside the Argentine rainforest, I tried to create a sense of mystery leaving you guessing what the Germans were doing in the jungle however I never fully finished on the smaller storytelling elements of my environment.
