Julia Nordlöf - Portfolio 2024
Hi! My name is Julia and I’m a 23-year-old 3D Art student at The Game Assembly in Stockholm, Sweden. This past year I’ve been working on my portfolio, and I’m super exited to share what I’ve learned in these early stages of my journey!
The Tech Dealer
This project was based on an amazing concept by Alecia Doyley so make sure to check it out! This was my second portfolio project at The Game Assembly and was made half-time over the course of 6 weeks. The style is based on the characters from Apex Legends and felt like a reasonable goal with the time I had. Special thanks to the incredible artist and fellow classmate Harry Berglund providing me with the insanely cool environment shown in the first pictures.

Ancient Statue
This was my first portfolio project at The Game Assembly and was made half-time over the course of 5 weeks. When planning and creating the concepts for this piece I was greatly inspired by the statues in the worlds of God of War (the new ones) and Baldur's gate 3. The baking and texturing were done on a midpoly version of the highpoly due to the limited time I had on this project. Even though the design ended up changing a lot from the original concept, I’m still happy about how it turned out in the end.
Sculpting process
For the body of the statue, I used one from a previous anatomy assignment I made as a base to save time.
Blender Bezier Curve
Used resources:
Ivy leaf textures from Quixel MegascansKikuyu grass from Quixel Bridge
Knight Helm
This was my third and last portfolio project at The Game Assembly and was made half-time over the course of 3 weeks. This project is a continuation of a previous assignment I did before the portfolio course started. Since this was my last piece, I wanted to keep the scope a bit lower compared to the first two. This gave me the opportunity to focus on the texturing, specifically the weathering of metal. I had a lot of fun with this one and it was nice way to end this course!
Thank you!
A huge and special thanks to my classmates, teachers and all the industry folks for the wonderful feedback and support during this time, I truly couldn’t have done it without you!If you want to see more of my work, you can find me on ArtStation!
