Hi everyone, I'm Visista Raja. I'm currently doing my 3rd in Visual arts. Here's my entry for the contest. I hope you like it.

Round of applause for our sponsors

This is the original character that I've created for my entry. Her name is Mariposa Venomia. My inspiration for her design was from a bunch of different insects.

Mariposa Venomia, a queen of captivating beauty and cunning intellect, commands attention with her regal poise and shimmering attire, reminiscent of twilight's hues. Yet it's her piercing green eyes that captivate most—a bright, almost unearthly shade, hinting at the depths of her power. Beneath her enchanting exterior lies a dark heart, fueled by a relentless thirst for power. Her words are like venom, weaving webs of manipulation to ensnare her enemies. Beware her allure, for within it lies the danger of her deadly ambition.

I started the design by drawing a bunch of silhouettes which helped me understand the overall shape language of the character that i was looking for and also made my process quicker since i already had a base that I can start from.

Later, i chose a shape that i really connected with and used a bunch of images of insects, photo bashed and used them for the basic shapes of my character

I made a couple variations, and decided to choose the one i originally started with.

I also made color variations, and I felt that the green really suited her and gave the feeling of "evil" that i wanted in my character.

The hardest part of this process for me was creating a final illustration. I was stuck at this point. Even after looking for inspiration, I couldn't think of something that would portray my character the way i wanted to. After a lot of trial and error, and a couple thumbnails, I was finally able to achieve what i was looking for and I'm really happy by how it turned out.

Overall, this was a fun project and I was really happy with my final result. I'm glad I had the opportunity to participate in this contest and learn a lot of new things during the process. I hope you like my design. Thankyou. :)
