Hello, I'm delighted to introduce my work to you. My projects often involve engaging directly with the audience through various media elements to share my thoughts more effectively. Rather than merely presenting my work via displays or social media platforms, I focus on interacting closely with the audience to enhance the effectiveness of my communications. Now, I'll explain how I communicate with my audience.

Mirrored Frenzy

AI installation art

”Mirrored Frenzy“ is an immersive art installation that uses artificial intelligence to explore the complex emotions, anxieties, and relationships individuals experience.

Inspired by the lyrics of Matt Champion‘s song ”Steel,“ it delves into themes of love, conflict, and self-doubt. A mirror screen transforms the observer’s image in real-time to visualize emotional turmoil, with AI interpreting expressions and movements to reflect personal emotions and inner conflicts.

"Mirrored Frenzy" is an installation that exhibits real-time elements and showcases the integration of contemporary AI technology. This piece combines an AI pipeline created through TouchDesigner with motion capture technology using motion sensors, presenting surrealistic images to the audience in real-time.

Comotion 2024 projection mapping

Projection Mapping

CoMotion, known as the world's biggest student-led conference in motion design, is a significant two-day event where students of Motion Media Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design interact with and gain insights from over 35 companies. Annually, a pair of students are selected to revamp the conference's brand. These students are responsible for assembling and managing a team of 40 members, and they supervise the creation of over 100 items, notably a 3-minute opening title sequence for the event.

The process of filling a massive 20 ft by 125 ft museum wall with projection mapping requires meticulous calculations and experimentation. Before starting the project, it was necessary to understand the wall's actual dimensions and the available space, as well as to plan the spatial distribution for using multiple projectors. Therefore, I surveyed the space of the SCAD Museum of Art, where the final finale event was to be held, and checked various factors.

After completing all the initial surveys, I created several mockups while discussing the design direction for CoMotion 2024 with Co-Creative Directors Kyle Switzer and Muskaan Sethi.

Once the design direction was set, I created organic and sacred patterns and arranged them on a horizontally elongated canvas to complement the logo animation.

My work required a deep understanding of both the technical and artistic aspects of projection mapping, including spatial design, animation, and synchronization with sound and lighting. By blending these elements, you created an immersive experience that captivated the audience, leaving a lasting impression of the event's innovative and creative spirit. This role demonstrated not only your technical expertise in experiential design but also your ability to conceptualize and deliver a visually stunning performance that perfectly encapsulated the essence of CoMotion 2024.

Louis Vuitton: The Art of Travel

Interactive Digital Exhibition for Louis Vuitton

Journey of Self-Discovery: Refining Identity Through Uncertainty

When we find ourselves in uncertain situations, we tend to get anxious about not being able to cope with the circumstances. The belief that we won't be able to resolve it spreads as self-doubt, making us question ourselves. We embark on journeys to refine our form, leaving behind only silhouettes within the hazy glass, as we search for solutions by overturning walls.

The definition of travel extends beyond the physical journey to different cities; it also encompasses the mental voyage of connecting with others and engaging in meaningful interactions. Meeting things different from our original selves, learning and embracing new aspects, and gradually shaping our own form – that is the essence of what we consider as the meaning of travel.

Louis Vuitton: The Art of Travel is a virtual interactive digital exhibition created to promote Louis Vuitton's brand identity. It embodies the essence of a flagship store but excludes Louis Vuitton products, focusing on the brand's story and philosophy. The exhibition is designed to provide attendees with a space to showcase Louis Vuitton's philosophy, allowing them to delve into the brand's story and values.

Louis Vuitton: The Art of Travel revolves around the theme of travel and offers the audience a unique journey. This exhibition combines various technologies, including interactive animation using AI, interactive particle animation with Lidar sensors, and a 3D generative animation that interacts with the audience's mobile phones to conclude the exhibition.

It is an audience-driven exhibition that allows attendees to enjoy their personalized journey while actively contributing to the creation of the exhibition. It serves as a space to convey new experiences and Louis Vuitton's philosophy to the public.

Before the exhibition begins, attendees interact with a kiosk featuring an embedded NFC sensor that prompts their mobile phones to access the website provided by Louis Vuitton. Following the instructions on the website, attendees receive the necessary information for the exhibition. As they progress through each space and transition to the next exhibition space, they acquire graphic design elements symbolizing that specific exhibition space. This interactive feature allows attendees to arrange elements to their liking, enabling them to create their own poster-style design.

This exhibition provides an opportunity for the general public to directly participate as artists in shaping their own creations. While enjoying the exhibition, attendees construct their unique designs, culminating in the sharing of their designs at the final stage, resulting in a distinctive exhibition formed by the contributions of numerous individuals. It bridges the gap between art and those who may not typically be involved in the art world, enabling them to share their thoughts and identities as artists with a wider audience. Moreover, while creating their own forms, they can also convey the theme of the exhibition, which is about finding one's identity through travel.

The Light

Senior Project

While many aspire to achieve greatness and become "shining" individuals, this pursuit can often blind us to the small joys and moments of beauty that exist in everyday life. When we focus solely on our goals, we may miss out on the richness of the present moment. The path to success is rarely easy, and as we face challenges and setbacks, it can be easy to become disheartened.

However, by taking a step back and appreciating the world around us, we can gain a new perspective and find the inner strength to persevere. This project aims to explore the strategies and techniques that can help individuals cultivate mindfulness and a deeper appreciation for the beauty and wonder of everyday life.

Through personal stories, research, and reflection, we will seek to better understand the complex relationship between success, happiness, and the pursuit of personal fulfillment.

Bringing your artwork to life in the physical world is always a challenging task. Unlike digital work, you can't simply make instant modifications, and every component must be physically crafted with my own hand. This is why thorough preparation and planning are crucial to success.

I started by sketching all the required props and measuring their sizes. Additionally, I made preparations for the shooting by designing the composition, lighting setup, and other necessary aspects. To aid the process, I also created a storyboard for the images I envisioned.

Work Process

When preparing for the miniature filming project as a senior project, I faced numerous challenges and uncertainties. The daunting pressure of attempting something that had not been done before, coupled with the fear of failure, made it difficult for me to take the first step.

However, with perseverance and determination, I overcame the obstacles and completed the project. The sense of achievement that came with it was beyond words, and I am immensely grateful to everyone who supported me in choosing the miniature filming technique that helped me push the boundaries of my imagination.

Furthermore, the utilization of Touchdesigner and Notch in creating generative graphics has greatly influenced my interest in pursuing larger-scale immersive art projects in the future. As I await the opportunity to create such projects, where people can actively engage with the space and experience it in a unique way, I am constantly inspired by the possibilities and the potential impact it can have on the audience.

The Glimpses of Light

Interactive Installation art

While preparing for my senior project, I pondered over the contemplation of light and how to present my perspective on light in a way that more people could enjoy and understand. As an interactive artwork that allows people to explore the meaning of the piece themselves, I participated in the Digital Graffiti 2023 hosted by Alys Beach and showcased my work titled "The Glimpse of Light."

By chasing after the distant shining entities, we often overlook the small but precious lights that surround us. Hoping to encourage a greater focus on the present and the beautiful people and shining selves around us, I decided to exhibit this artwork.

The piece aims to highlight the contrast between those who pass by the artwork without paying much attention and those who engage with it and derive enjoyment from it. It serves as a reflection on finding happiness in everyday life and contemplating ways to love oneself.

This exploration is not just about the technology itself, but about the human stories behind it, the values we cherish, and the societal norms we aim to protect and nurture.

Join us as we navigate this complex yet fascinating terrain, aiming to harmonize the brilliance of AI with the depth of human ethics, ensuring that as we move forward, we do so with conscience, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of humanity.

1984

3D Animation Title Sequence

"1984" Motion Graphic Title Sequence project is Inspired by George Orwell's iconic dystopian novel, this project brings the haunting world of "1984" to life through a stunning blend of red Gothic style 3D animation and dark techno music by Gesaffelstein. Immerse yourself in the oppressive atmosphere of Oceania, where the ever-watchful eye of Big Brother, the foreboding cityscapes, and the chilling slogans of the Party are vividly reimagined. My goal is to capture the essence of Orwell's masterpiece, delivering a powerful visual experience that resonates with the novel's themes of surveillance, totalitarianism, and the manipulation of truth.
