This is a small collection of contrasting projects that were completed both during, and immediately following, my time at Think Tank Training Centre. I learned every step of the way, and had a blast doing it!

I've always loved sculpting the intricate organic details of creatures. For this project, I referenced a ton of crocodilian, toad, and even human anatomy and bone structure.

I wanted to give him a thick leathery look to his skin transitioning to larger plates running along his back. The initial concept I used for this creature only suggested what forms ran along his back, so I had the pleasure of concepting different a lot of different ideas.

Having never worked on a hard-surface modeling project remotely close to this scale before, I had an amazing experience learning every single step of the way on this piece.

With over 2,500 individually built parts, it's easy to get lost in the details, but capturing the proportions, scale, and character of the original concept was my top priority.

The initial concept was quite painterly when it came to the fine details, adding emphasis instead to the forms and proportions. This became especially evident when I had to build the spine, torso, and legs. As a result, I think the spine in particular is my favorite part of the entire project.

After completing my demoreel at Think Tank Training Centre, I was eager to continue my learning journey. I wanted to go back to what initially inspired me to attend school in the first place -- creature design and modeling. 

I wanted to create an expressive, amphibious humanoid creature, so I used different marine animals, as well as human anatomy, for references when creating its underlying anatomy and skin texture.

I was responsible for all aspects of this project, including the initial design.
