Japan-inspired Environments
Hi, I'm Valentina, an aspiring environment artist. For this contest, I want to present you two environments created in UE5. Both have one thing in common: they are inspired by Japan, but still with some personal touches. Enjoy!
CLASSROOM
This is my first environment created in Unreal Engine during my master's in CGI at BigRock School.
I liked this program right away and I enjoyed putting piece after piece together, which eventually led to the creation of the final room.
Here are the passes of the project and the final renders.
FINAL RENDER
STREET
This is the second project I've created.
Thanks to this personal project, I had the opportunity to strengthen my knowledge of the program and learn many new things.
I already had some ideas in mind for this environment, but I still needed visual references to inspire me.
I didn't want to do a "copy and paste" of what I had as references, but I wanted to make it more personal.
So, after an initial blocking, I made a sketch of how I envisioned the scene, how I wanted the buildings to look and their colors.
Reference and inspiration
Simple blockout and my sketch
After that, I started getting hands-on by adding the first materials and assets, making some changes along the way.
Here are some render passes before...
...the FINAL RENDERS!
*for both environments, the assets were taken from QuixelBridge, EpicGames Marketplace and Sketchfabs.
