Hey my name is Yen Leong, a student studying in UNDO Academy. Here is the portfolio I made for my past 5 semester's projects and works! Please have a look~ -w-)/

Round of applause for our sponsors

Starting off with two of my proudest works from the last semester~

The first one I named it

The Sea of Quanta: Imaginary Tree

This project is a big reference to one of my favourite game Honkai Impact 3rd. I used multiple scenes of the game and mixed them together into this scene!

This project featured 3 moods where I used davinci to do light compositing!

I had the idea of giving the tree some emotion like moods.
The first mood being the positive mood, shining brightly filled with colors to reward those who managed to step into the bridge of light~

The second mood being the opposite where it's now in a negative, aggressive crimson mood where the whole area is filled with bloodlust to punish whoever dares to disturb.

The third mood is the neutral mood where the tree is now in it's hibernating mode. Calm, chill and peaceful with a hint of glow that brings hope in the vast darkness surrounding~

At the beginning I wanted to create something for some of my favourite games, and the Imaginary Tree was the chosen one!

Next I began to block out the scene and complete the model!

After setting up the scene and completing the walk cycle, I added the lights and made different light passes such as albedo, specular , AO and etc.
Here's also a test render before I let my laptop to ran the render sequence for all 123 frames, and it took like 2 days whole to finish rendering everything out.

Once done checking and confirmed everything is rendered nicely, I can now throw them all into Davinci Resolve and use fusion to do compositing!

Here's the final result along with the WIP~

The second one is my Game Animation showreel!

(unfortunately due to copyright the music was removed, I had EMIYA theme originally

My animation skills really came a long way since semester 2 where I started learning basic animation.
I really enjoyed doing 3D animations and is currency working on more advanced animations such as parkour and fight scenes!! (really looking forward to the result

And speaking of that, here's my showreel for the body mechanic animations!

I had lots of fun on this one too, mainly because of how different it is to animate a full body character for the first time.
The final project idea came from Honkai: Star Rail (different game from my Imaginary Tree but same company) as during that time was the launch of the game and it gained popularity super fast, and coincidentally I came across this animation which I think is cool!!

Next let's see something that is more comfy and chill~

Comfy Kitchen

The scene is modeled and textured was planned according to the reference!

Here's a close-up for the hero props!

Creating interior environment sure is interesting, but whats' even more interesting is creating a character!

Pipo

For the first character I created was based on Nelnalium's character Pipo!

I was introduced to Zbrush for the first time so it took a while to somewhat get used to the controls.
Here's the process of modeling Pipo!

After that Pipo is brought back at Zbrush again but this time it's to do the posing!!

And some zoom-ins!

Modeling a character was very interesting, but you know what's even more interesting in modeling a character? Drawing out a character!!!

Jibril

Jibril the the result of everything that is going inside my lil head mushed together, honestly drawing out an OC like this is such a unique experience for the first time?! It feels like as if she's my daughter www

And finally here's one of my earliest works made for understanding how texture works!

The Crucible

I first build up the blocking and slowly enhance the model!

The textures are done in Substance Painter and was introduced to the Emissive map!

And finally, in honor of the place that taught and guided me to create all these works~

That's it for my portfolio.
I wanted to give my special thanks to all my tutors, family and friends for also supporting me through the semesters. Although I am not the best in every subject, but trying them out brought me valuable experience.
I will continue to further improve and bring in better quality works in the future!

Thank you for scrolling by the end, I hope you enjoyed browsing through my portfolio and I wish you a Great day!
