MELTDOWN-Animated Thesis Film

In this thesis film we wanted to put the viewer in the shoes of Randy, an autistic circus performer who undergoes a meltdown when an unfamiliar location, mixed with sensory overload causes him great overwhelm.

We knew from the beginning we wanted this story to take place in an environment that Randy was unfamiliar with. A place with lots of sounds, smells, and interactions that are foreign to him. The time period is inspired off of the early twentieth century, a time when mental disorders were especially stigmatized and misunderstood.
