Colton Force 2024

My name is Colton Force and I am a student at Think Tank Training Centre enrolled in the Online program. Over the last year I have been working to develop and expand my skills as a 3D Environment Artist and these projects below are the reflection of my journey.

Inspired by games such as Left 4 Dead and Fallout this post apocalyptic town set in the American Midwest is the result of my latest term at Think Tank. This project was by far the largest undertaking of any I have taken on before as I built out the entirety of this abandoned town in just under 4 months. Utilizing a modular building kit built from scratch I was able to continually reuse and repurpose assets in an attempt to build the town out further to make it feel bigger and more full of an abandoned past life. The center of the project focusses on an old Baptist Church that has now been turned into a safehouse for wandering survivors.

Responsible for all aspects, with exception to Trees (Mega scans) and the Background Vehicles which are scans from Ashkelon  

The Abandoned Mining Control Room is another 4 month long project at Think Tank. This was my first time working on a project for this long continuously and while exhausting it was very rewarding to see it come together. This project was my first time making all tileable textures from scratch in Designer as well as my first time making trim sheets and texture atlases for props.

The Overgrown Garage was a shorter term project as a final for my intermediate term, it took place over the course of just over 4 weeks. This was my first time bringing this number of props through the full high to low workflow and served as a great introduction for what was to come in the later projects. It feels an obvious step below my past two projects but is an important marker for where I came from and how much my work has improved this year.

I was responsible for all aspects of the building and models, all of the plants in the scene are from Mega Scans.
