Modular pieces of an Haussmannian building made for a School Project, based on a building reference from my city.

For a school project, I developed a modular kit specifically designed for video games using Unreal Engine 5.
My approach included creating many windows variants based on Haussmannian architecture, as windows occupy a significant portion of a building's exterior.

To achieve an easy texture variation, I combined a Trimsheet and an Atlas Texture. This enabled the Instance Static Mesh of each building to instantly change visually, generating many variants.
I created the texture using Substance Painter, and overlapped in purpose the UVs of each pieces in order to maximize quality within Unreal Enging 5 using the Lumen's power.

The building pieces where created in Blender, based on a grid for pixel-perfect snapping.

I created 42 different windows variants to construct various buildings.

Underground pieces were also created to add verticality, and to change the tone of the environment.

I then used these pieces to build a small alley and created a render with the OCIO / ACES workflow and re-rendered it through After Effects.

I also started rendering a few seconds for a trailer. This shot is the best one I have.
