Thuktu 

is an FMV (Full motion video) videogame! As a detective, you receive a Laptop belonging to Sonia. She was studying archaeology, one of the best students indeed. But something happens and her personality starts to change, becoming more and more and more competitive.

Investigate the laptop to discover her story. Inside you could find text messages, e-mails, and FMV parts (Full motion video) among other things.

Tuhktú is an investigation and horror videogame that uses FMV (Full motion video) techniques.

The player is a detective who received a laptop from a girl called Sonia. She recently committed suicide and now, you have 24 hours to discover what happens to her before they close in case.

Inside the laptop, you will find e-mails, chat conversations, photos and videos of her live etc. Your investigation will lead you to understand Sonis´s life, searching for clues to come up with the password that protects different apps and archives that contain the story of what happened.

A mind demon has possessed her and is destroying her life. The story is separate from all the apps on the laptop. You can find e-mail and chat conversations, and videos of her life like video calls or security footage among many others.

The team that made Thuktu, are people that love video games and were studying Audiovisual communication., so when we had to face our final degree project. We mixed up our passions to create Thuktu. 

Thuktu is a mix of video games and cinema. Both of them, work together offering a graphic adventure experience with real videos and images. To make you live an investigation and terror narrative fragmented across the laptop

To help us, we use some assets from the assets store. With this, we have to create this game in three months, only with our resources. We are a team of five, including the actress Sonia. Facing a game development production and a Film production at the same time. 

                      TARGET AUDIENCE

 People between 18 - 35 years. 18 because this game talks about delicate things like suicide and academic pressure, and 35 because you need to know about computers at the same time you remember your university years.

                    TARGET PLATFORM

 Our main platform is PC, for being the most intuitive to play with (you play exploring a computer, so you use your computer). As a secondary platform, we have IOS and Android. Because it could be intuitive to convert the "Mouse and keyboard" gameplay to "Touchscreen".

Right now, the game only has one language (Spanish) but we are working to add an English localization!

As a Game producer, I established the need for the project by talking with the different parts of the team. I prepared the sprints and meetings for weeks, resolving issues that appeared during the development always trying to be loyal to the scope and the pillars.

One of my responsibilities was to establish a road map for the vertical slice. Being aware of the resources that we have, I searched for Tools to speed up the development (DreamOS) to build a solid Vertical Slice.

As this was a project with so much different content of different kinds, I coordinated the development and the recordings. I worked side by side with the narrative designer to turn the ideas into a real game with Full motion video footage. Fitting the text to our scope and changing the most difficult things to be able to Bring the game to a successful conclusion.

I write different dossiers for publishing and awards, set up a production plan for the complete project, a road map, the sale estimation, and the study of competitors to present the project to different media and know the true project scope.

As a game designer, I help with the narrative design, helping the writer to split the story in a way that makes sense and creates interest in the players and I set up the pillars of the game. At the same time, I was in charge of setting up a horror atmosphere using the game feel and generating insecurity among players. Finally, I decided on the password, how the system works, where you can find them, which clues the players have, etc.
