Arid Souls

    Yearning is a poignant emotion, one that evokes a deep sense of solitude and longing. Inspired by the poetic words of Bi Gan, a young Chinese filmmaker, "In search of you, I took residence in a bird's eyes, often gazing intently at the passing wind," this project delves into the vast emptiness that resembles a desolate desert—a metaphor for the parched landscapes of our hearts overwhelmed by unresolvable yearning. Just as migratory birds, the moon, and forget-me-nots transform these desolate winds into a melody, this collection encapsulates the essence of nostalgia and the pain of displacement. Elements such as The wind, the desert, the moon, forget-me-not flowers, and the pupil of a bird are meticulously integrated into the development of innovative prints.

This collection explores the use of recycled plastics and plant-based furs, aiming to highlight the pressing issue of land desertification while engaging in a dialogue of emotions. The project leverages CLO to construct visuals that reflect the passage of time and the solitude of desert scenes, further enhanced by video effects created using After Effects and other software to elevate the sensory experience. "arid souls" strives not only to express profound emotional states but also to raise awareness about environmental degradation through the art of fashion. Longing is not only for a specific person but can also be for a lush, water-rich land to which we cannot return.
