Alec BATTY - 3D Animator - Reel 2024

Hi everyone ! Welcome to my 2024 entry for the Rookies ! 

I have 2 years of 3D experience under my belt at ESMA, a school in Nantes, where I learn to become a 3D Generalist. In the future, I would like to specialize in 3D animation and become a 3D animator. I am determined to improve and come back even stronger for the next Rookies!

Here is my demo reel, followed by the process behind the creation of my latest animation.

Here is the process behind the creation of my latest animation. 

We had to create a take using an audio clip of our choice. I chose an old Orangina commercial and added a lot of actions to make it more entertaining. I wanted to take liberties with the original audio to add context and make it even more fun.

I started with sketches to visualize what I wanted to do:

Then i recorded myself for references to do the blocking:

The final step was to add the in-between frames and the objects. I changed some poses to make them more cartoonish.
