A collection of concept art that I created for my submission to the 2024 Rookie Awards contest.
Hi there, welcome!
I'm Courtney, this is my submission for the Rookie Awards contest! Thanks for stopping by and checking out my work, it's been a glorious time creating it all and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Lumin Gaps Village Homes
This is the concept art I have been working on for a personal project called The Eclipsed Kingdom.I decided the homes in the main village of Lumin Gaps were a great place to start for this project because this design could really portray the overall atmospheric mood of the area. The mood I felt the homes (and environment) of Lumin Gaps should communicate was: hopeful, cheery, optimistic, friendly, simple and down to earth.
3D models of the homes created in blender.
An establishing shot featuring the entrance to the village of Lumin Gaps.
The Abandoned Entrance
This was a personal environment piece I created using Blender and Photoshop. While working on this project, my primary goals were to deepen my understanding of Blender and enhance my skills in light rendering and texturing, particularly through the use of matte painting in Photoshop.

Huevember Studies
A monthly challenge takes place in November where artists are given a predetermined color plan to use in their daily art pieces. For my own series I went with Environment studies and chose to focus on strengthening my techniques, work flow and art fundamentals with each study.
This was a challenging and very rewarding time! I really love the end result of all the images together.
