Round of applause for our sponsors

Hello everyone!

I'm Mario Huguet, 22 years old, from Barcelona, Spain, and this is my final year studying Visual Effects at FX Barcelona Film School. It's an honor to be part of the Rookies Awards 2024. Today, I'm excited to show you some of my favorite projects. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did making them.

Thanks for your attention and support!

First of all I would like to share my reel, where I include what I consider my best projects. Later I will develop some of them to learn more about their creation process.

Breaking the crystal - RBD project

In this project, I used RBD techniques to simulate the destruction of a crystal.

Honestly, I enjoyed the process a lot.

In this project, I've used RBD techniques to simulate the destruction of a crystal. The object I've used to break it is a karambit, an emblematic weapon from CSGO.

As you can imagine, I've practically done everything in Houdini, so here I leave you the node tree.

Besides all the process done in Houdini, I polished it in Nuke, giving it a better final result.

Military march - Crowds project

In this project, I aimed to recreate a military parade, featuring a large crowd of people, including both spectators and military personnel

One of the most challenging aspects of this project was creating the environment, which I assembled with the help of a kitbash and a lot of patience.

In this project, I found myself having to create a wide variety of agents, each with different animations. In total, there are 12 different agents, each with 8 animations.

The compositing in Nuke was crucial in this project, helping me achieve the look I was aiming for.

Finally, in Davinci, I created the drone interface to completely polish my project

Finally, I want to thank both my teachers and my classmates, and I hope this is just the beginning of a long career

Thank you for the attention! "Hope you liked my work, and if so, don't forget to give a  HIGH FIVE!
