Greetings! I am Ieva Sucilaite, a student finishing my first year at Howest University - Digital Arts and Entertainment. Here I gathered my work from the Preproduction course, where I put my traditional and digital art skills to the test.
Semester 1 First Assignment
For this very first project, the focus was on perspective fundamentals and lineart. The task was to create an artisan's house, whose profession we could choose ourselves. The environment and architecture were based on Bulgaria, Blagoevgrad Province. In the property lives a lone goat cheese maker, who travels to the main town in his van and sells his cheese to locals.
The final piece was only line-art with light gray color blocks. After half a year I decided to add a watercolor paint underlayer to it to create some feeling and atmosphere to the project.
Semester 1 Final Assignment "Rustborn Racers"
In a postapocalyptic desert island world, contestants face off in a 24-hour endurance race through harsh environments. For this assignment, we were tasked to create a vehicle made from an aircraft that could hold two people and withstand the race.
I have created nearly 50 designs for possible competitors in the race, but now it was time to refine the designs and choose a final one.
Semester 2 Assignment "Linked"
In the second semester, we were allowed to choose our theme and create an illustrative piece with two objects that are linked by narrative. I decided to create a snippet of an environment with floating islands, where an airboat is arriving at a tiny monk town.
Thank you for viewing my work. I cannot wait to continue my art journey in my second year!
