Context: During our various research for this dissertation project, we noted that many pre-teens still have questions about puberty and lack information on the subject. Indeed, despite a 2001 law which stipulates 3 compulsory sessions per year of education on sexuality and emotional life, which includes puberty, only 10% of schools respect it. In addition, puberty is a subject that is not always easy to discuss within the family, or even a taboo subject. This lack of information can then cause self-confidence problems in certain pre-teens, or even have an impact on their mental health or their development. Besides this, we also have many parents who do not know how to approach the subject of puberty with their child and who themselves, sometimes, lack information on the subject.

Our solution is aimed at pre-teens aged 10 to 13, it allows us to answer all the questions they may ask during this period and to address subjects that are not necessarily about school. This solution comes in the form of a box, containing different mediation supports to support and inform young adolescents during puberty. This box operates in the form of a bimonthly subscription, each subscriber would then receive 6 boxes per year addressing a different subject of puberty.

The main object found in these boxes is a booklet intended for pre-teens. We designed it like a notebook, with illustrations, small post-its and stickers, in order to get away from the world of school textbooks. Inside we find explanatory content, diagrams, illustrations but also activity pages in order to provide a fun aspect and allow pre-teens to interact with the support in order to make it more their own. We also find, inside these boxes, discussion cards to help open dialogue on different subjects or several goodies such as collectible illustrations, a sheet of stickers and an object related to the theme of the box (see following visuals).

We have also developed support for parents, in the form of a leaflet. Inside, parents will be able to find information on the subject of puberty as well as advice on how to best support their child during this period.

For this solution, we favored physical support because pre-teens today live in an already very digital environment. However, to complete this support, the creation of a website was essential. Initially, the latter acts as an information medium for the concept of the boxes and it is also on this one that it will be possible to place orders and subscribe. Secondly, it makes it possible to provide additional content, in particular a testimonial space where pre-teens can write their testimony and discover the experiences of other pre-teens. We will also find a blog there with various articles addressing puberty themes. And finally a video and audio content area which will be reserved for subscribers.
