MACGUFFIN

This project is inspired by the concept of "MacGuffin" from film history, which represents something from our childhood that may seem insignificant, unimportant, or irrelevant but still plays a crucial role in shaping our personalities. The story takes place in a surreal forest filled with scattered toys.

As we navigate through this world and generation, we wear an organic and natural mask to blend in with others and chasing the same MacGuffin. However, at times, this mask can make us feel like an outsider and crave the chance to escape. The main character embarks on a journey to break free from their memories and explore new experiences, ultimately discovering a deeper connection to the world around them.

I produced this project on the USC Mocap Stage, using Mocap technology to capture live performers and bring them to life as virtual characters in Unreal Engine 5. To achieve a realistic style, I utilized Marvelous Designer to simulate the cloth and enhance the running sequence with more energy and charm. This project was a valuable opportunity for me to gain hands-on experience with Virtual Production in UE5 and solidify my skills in this exciting field.
