CLUBULON

Hi! I'm James and I am an animator and musician passionate about making narrative animations.

My student Film 'Clubulon' follows a man with a horrifyingly large dent in his head who works at a wedding planning company navigating his work day.

My film is animated primarily in 2D, as this is the style in which i specialise. However, it also takes advantage of 3D animation for the backgrounds. 'Mix-media' animation is becoming more common in the animation landscape and I wanted to explore it further in this project as it is exciting to me.

I also composed the all the music tracks for this project!

The film was created with a combination of Adobe animate for the 2D animation, and Blender for the backgrounds.

My goal with using this method was to create a world that looked like a three-dimensional sketchbook, with the architecture covered in doodles and featuring bizarre geometry. I want to take this concept further in the future, but I feel the results in this film represent this idea.
