Slumber Party Nightmares

by SkyMc on 31 May 2024 for Rookie Awards 2024

This projects objective was to revamp a white button down shirt. I used Monster Inc as my main inspiration, but I wanted it to have a darker vibe. Using CLO 3D I was able to create a design that screamed "Slumber Party Nightmares." Overall, I really loved this project and being able to explore new features.

This projects objective was to revamp a white button down shirt. I used Monster Inc as my main inspiration, but I wanted it to have a darker effect.  Using CLO 3D I was able to create a design that screamed "slumber party horror stories."

My digital design has two collars, one mandarin and one lapel collar. I attached bonded triangular pieces to the mandarin collar to look like teeth. As for the buttons, I wanted googly eye buttons, so I created them and designed them as a separate CLO file and added them into my original CLO file. I randomized them around the mandarin collar and button stand. Furthermore, I wanted to play around with texture on the face, so I took the preset texture from CLO, took it into photoshop and created the illusion of the avatar having scales on her face and neck. The elf ears I had to play around with size and portion, then figured out how to add texture to give it a more realistic feel. Lastly, I had to use the bonding/fusible option to create the fluffy spikes you see on her cape. I also made a an animation of her "roaring" like a monster!

These pretty pink washed denim jeans were super fun. Also done in CLO3D. I added a j-fly, pockets and fringe along with some holes. Both fringe and holes were done by adding them to the jeans as graphic design.  I used a cotton denim, a pink taffeta and a knit to create the pink washed jeans. There's topstitching detailing, rivets, and belt loops. The tag on the back was done in photoshop.

For the shirt I used a mesh netting and velvet. The pattern seen on the velvet I  created in photoshop and then added it into CLO.

Overall, most of this project was just learning the basics and exploring what CLO is capable of which I really enjoyed.

This was my very  first CLO project. It was a simple 4 layer circle skirt with an asymmetrical top. I was mostly playing around with different lengths of the skirt and thought about shapes when it came  to the top. The top and bottom are both a medium wash denim with yellow splatter and lace layered over or next to it.

My latest project was done using CLO 3D and the different kind of render options they had for objects. This was based on stained glass, so I wanted to mess around the iridescent and glass features.
