Web & App Design : Baba Nyonya
I am a Digital Media Design student at The One Academy Penang. This project is an interactive and informative website about the Malaysian Baba Nyonya culture. This website aimed to educate and raise the global awareness about the rich heritage of Malaysian Baba Nyonya culture.
Introduction
The website is about the Malaysian Baba Nyonya. It is an interactive and informative website that aimed to educate and raise the global awareness about the rich heritage of Malaysian Baba Nyonya culture. The website offers a comprehensive exploration of Baba Nyonya from 4 different aspects, which are History, Cuisine, Arts & Crafts and Wedding Customs.
Concept Board
Site Map
I separated the website into 4 pages, which are Homepage, Cuisine Page, Art & Craft Page and Marriage Customs Page to make it more easier to understand and reduce confusion.
Moodboard
The design is inspired by the interior architecture and vibrant patterns of Baba Nyonya heritage, employs a color scheme of dark brown and brownish yellow with accents of pink and green. I applied the mosaic & tiles pattern, besides I also used the tear paper and image collage method to represent the timeless history of Baba Nyonya.
Wireframe
Firstly, user will be welcomed by an animation menu, then they can choose from the menu to visit each page. In each page, there are a lot of interactive elements, such as click to flip the cards, open the lid, expand the stacked card, mini game and so on to make the website more interesting.
Progress
My progress for this website divided into 2 phases, which are Design Phase and Animation Phase.
