Sometimes it's just the right moment to change direction and face new challenges.

Round of applause for our sponsors

Hi, i'm Javier Sánchez, architecture student in my last year. I've spent many years wandering between different fields of study that I liked, but none have fully fascinated me.

Last year, I felt it was my moment and I decided to make a u-turn in my life and my studies and start a new path that has always caught my eye but for which I felt unprepared. Now, I am certain that the world of 3D art is my passion.

I started a master in ArchViz at "butic The New School", and since then the excitement and passion i've felt in every class has been something incredible and new to me. As I am currently finishing my final degree project, I have applied what I have learned in the master's program in a couple of works of my own and my architecture final project: a fire station where anyone would want to work.

Hope you enjoy it!

the few, the brave, the HEROES

The idea of this proyect was to develop a firestation in which firefighters would feel like home spending so much time of their life at work. Stays had to be comfy, spacious and emit a feelind of wellness.

Since I have family in the firefighters sector I have thoroughly investigated and asked them what they like and dislike about their firestation and what is missing in the everyday life. This proyect covers all their needs and creates a unique relationship with architecture itself and the building's materials. Red can be seen anywhere in the station, from the walls, swimming pool, up to the deckchairs.

The starting point of the proyect is a crack on the ground as an entrance to the building which is buried undergound in the edge of a hill. The idea of the crack and crevice appear all along the building as well as interior terraces to flood the interior with light.

"In the face of fire, we find our strength and courage."

This proyect is dedicated to all firefighter heroes who protects us. I hope their enviroment keeps evolving accompanied by the good architecture.

Stairs to my dreams

Since the beginning of my architecture path, stairs have been an incredible inspiration and an iconic part of every building and every project. Once I came across this proyect from Arqmov Workshop, "Departamento SDM", and I fell in love with those stairs.

When I started modeling last year I knew I had to recreate this wooden stairs. I tried to replicate the stairs on their own and adapted the enviroment and the views through the window.

I wanted to recreate with this project the real photographs from the building and also added one more artistic to show the details that have been modeled for the stairs.

It would be a dream come true to have stairs like this in my own house.

Memories of The Leyend

I wanted to add my first piece of 3D modeling. Since the first day that we were told to think of an object to model in 3D I knew what I was going to do. I've always wanted to recreate my favourite videogames' props and weapons and that had to include the series of Zelda.

First I had to raster the picture from the shield and make vectorial to add it to the texture later. Since I was just starting modeling I had various issues separating the shield into parts and deciding which path was going to be better to start with.

After the geometry was done, some scupling was needed to add all the imperfections.

Finally, I experimented with many textures to achieve the one I decided was the correct aspect I wanted to give to the scene and vualá!

I would like to thanks everyone who watched this entry and hope you enjoyed the travel and the views.

At last, special thanks to all the team and teachers from the ArchViz Master at butic The New School, it's been an incredible journey up until now and it all just started. Thanks to my classmates, we always learn and try to help and inspire each others.

Let the 3D world embrace you and evolve.

Javier.
