Opening Theme

The Story

The story begins with a 22 years old high school graduate, Amamiya Gray, went back to school to rediscover his passion for life after a few years working in society. However it wasn't a smooth process. This episode series is going to explore what it meant to be youth, the hardship a normal teenager is going to face during his or her period of growing up and the solution to these problems. As Gray progress throughout the story, the audience will follow his footsteps and witness how he will overcome the obstacle awaits with his ingenuity and determination, in order to rediscover his "youth".

Recreating the "Malaysian Experience" Through Anime

when I saw the anime Violet Evergarden and Your Name, I said to myself, if I could ever make anime as beautiful as them, that would have been great. And fast forward a few years later, here I am.

The Scenery

I thrives to recreate the scenery that I was grown up with, although the location in my stories are not based on real life location, me and my friends did a lot of research and references local buildings in Penang when designing the backgrounds

Introducing local culture and food with Anime

It was a challenge animating frame by frame with no experience, let alone animating mundane object with an anime twist. A lot of creative decisions have to be made in order to make it a believable yet out of the ordinary experience.

A Trip down the Memory lane

I never took illustration or animation related courses during my college life, what I took was Business Administration while part-time working as a photographer. All self-taught through analyzing anime frame by frame, and watching YouTube tutorials. So it is a challenging endeavor when I decided to go full time on drawing Anime and definitely an interesting feeling going back to pull out the early drafts that I drew back when I was free and contrast it with what I am capable of drawing now.

The Characters

The Main Character: Amamiya Gray MBTI: ENFP

A playful, sly, always full of energy and charismatic character. Wherever he go he will become the center of the attention. Although he may fool around most of the time, when thing gets serious, he will be there for others. 

Egawa Hitomi MBTI：ESTJ

The campus belle, she is strong witted and have a strong sense of self-righteousness. She maybe short in height, but don't let that fool you. She will never back down from confrontation and is great in debates. She is a tsundere and that makes her confrontation with Amamiya Gray a great scene to be witness.

Kotani Kokomi MBTI: INFJ

My favourite character out of the bunch. Kokomi is a shy, soft spoken girl at first impression. She is self-conscious about her height (183cm) as she wanted to be cute and be a normal teenage girl. She often compare herself with her best friend Hitomi. She maybe shy at first but when the situation is right, she may act in a way that will surprise others even to those that are close to her. She's an Otaku.

So... What's next?

Highschool Undergraduate, in chinese : 大学生高校生, was a hobby thing that I work on during my free time. It should have been a pipedream that I occasionally imagine but not a reality that I one day can bring into. Yet fast forward today, upon the success of the first book and just published the second, I can safely claim the title of a mangaka (comic artist) albeit still a freshly made one, a.... ROOKIE??? Forgive me. 

Now I travel around Malaysia and give talks and helding book tours to all schools alike while promoting my books. Looking forward I will keep on making new stories whether that's in comic form or animation form, my ultimate goal is to one day make Featured Anime Films and screen it across the globe. It is a huge endeavor, an impossible one perhaps but an exciting one to look forward to.
