My first year of Architectural Visualization
Hello! My name is Maria. I am a first year student at YRGO in Gothenburg where I study Architectural Visualization. Here you can see some of my projects.
Hi! I´m Maria and here are some of my school projects that I have done during my first year as an Architectural Visualization student at YRGO in Gothenburg. As I had no experience with visualization before, I am happy and satisfied with what we have been able to produce during 9 months at school. Hope you like what you see.
Image overview
URBAN ARCHITECTURE
3 weeks project
Software used: 3Ds Max, Corona and postproduction in Photoshop
This project was a collaboration with Millerhare Visualization Studio in London. This was a real previous project of the Kings Cross area in London. The task was to visualize a selling image of the place and at the same time give it a fair sense of life and movement with all kinds of people. I was assigned to Granary Square.
The Hotel
3 weeks project
Software used: 3Ds Max, Quixel Megascan, Corona render and postproduction in Photoshop
In this project we had to work together in groups. Each group was assigned a place on earth and my group got French Polynesia. After collaborative research on the location, we decided on textures, specific location, feeling and props to get a unity in our images. I was given the task of creating the bedroom. An overwater bungalow on the island of Moorea.
The Chair
2 weeks project
Software used: 3Ds Max, Corona and postproduction in Photoshop
A school project in which our task was to choose a design chair and from photos model and texture it from scratch. Here we have Tiger armchair GM 4106, designed by Henrik Lehm and which is part of the Naver Collection. Then we model a virtual studio with three-point light where we then set out the camera and rendered studio images. We also had to make an advertising image of the chair.
The Villa
3 weeks project
Software used: 3Ds Max, Railclone, Forest Pack, Quixel Megascan, Vray render and postproduction in Photoshop
Our first exterior project. The mission was to create attractive and accurate images of the villa and place it somewhere in Scandinavia. With drawings from Alingsås Huspaket we have modeled in 3ds Max. We also used Vray as a renderer instead of Corona.
The project started by creating a moodboard to show the feeling and style of our image. Also light reference and texture were selected. During the project, we also had a meeting with an architect to make sure that everything looks reasonable and correct in the image compared to reality.
MATTE PAINTING
4 days project
Software used: Photoshop, Midjourney
A project entirely in 2D using AI and Photoshop. We started by generating images with building and environment. I chose to use Midjourney. Out of four images, the class had to vote for one image to be the reference image and then work with it further. I photographed the trees that felt important in the foreground.
