Hi there!! My name is Caroline Gendron, and I recently earned my BFA in Illustration from SCAD. I aim to enter the video game and entertainment industry as a concept artist/generalist. In the past 9 months, I've been learning ZBrush and using it for my concept illustrations. Hope you enjoy!

Below are environments experimenting with custom 3D models created in ZBrush and Photoshop paintovers. Environments are my overarching goal because I love setting the mood through color and atmosphere. It's very rewarding to set the stage for epic fantasy worlds that audiences want to travel to.

In the depths of a mysterious jungle, a temple awakens with power. The ancient cultures of the Mayan, Aztec, and Inca civilizations and lush tropical forests inspired this environment.

A cozy fishing village is tucked away in a secluded landscape in a fantasy realm. Inspired by the Caribbean, forest creeks, and tranquil, qualities of nature, this village offers a peaceful retreat.

In the distance, the castle of a corrupted witch storms over the land. After traveling through the shrouded forest, our young adventurers cautiously approach the structure, prepared to meet their fate.

Beneath the ocean's surface lies a vibrant city inspired by futuristic architecture. A sci-fi-themed monorail leads the viewer towards the city, where fish creatures and merpeople live harmoniously.

Across the galaxy is a desert planet with a sandy terrain and a dry atmosphere. Inhabitants utilize spacecraft resembling beetles to collect scrap metal and buried materials, transporting their findings toward towering structures. (Terrain asset from artist Jose Vega)

I've been learning ZBrush through several intensive concept projects in the past year. I enjoyed the challenge of bringing my ideas to life from start to finish while learning new time-saving techniques. I've also explored 3D printing because of my interest in toy or statue design.

Learning 3D over the past 9 months has enhanced my understanding of depth, proportions, and production. I enjoy using 3D to help concept ideas and take them to production-ready models. Additionally, creating finished 3D models progressed my learning faster. My future goals are to learn Blender and keep applying parts of this process to environment illustrations. Thanks for viewing!
