Portfolio - Brand Identity & Typography
I am a NY-based designer, originally from Japan. I recently graduated from Parsons School of Design. I am especially enthusiastic about developing visual identities for brands to help drive their business growth. My ultimate goal is to create designs that inspire, engage, and make a positive impact on people's lives.
REACH
Food plays a pivotal part in our lives, yet we often find ourselves consuming it without deep appreciation, having been privileged to enjoy life with ample access to food. In moments like grocery shopping or dining out at a restaurant, the presence of food producers often feels detached from our daily lives. Consequently, we tend to overlook the considerable efforts and sacrifices made by countless individuals and the animals themselves.

Shippo
Shippo is a grid-based and mono-spaced typeface, inspired by a traditional Japanese pattern known as “shippo”, meaning seven treasures in Japanese. It is a pattern inspired by the seven treasures described in Buddhist scriptures. These treasures include gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, agate, coral, and white seashells. The shippo pattern typically consists of a geometric fashion, creating a harmonious and intricate design. The circles symbolize the treasures and are arranged to represent unity, continuity, and the perpetual cycle of life. This pattern also indicates that human relationships and connections are as valuable as “seven treasures”.

Studio Omi
Omi is a pilates studio that specializes in body and bone reformation, helping individuals achieve their ideal body shape. The studio provides personalized Pilates sessions focusing on strengthening the body, improving posture, and promoting bone health. Coming up with the concept, I was very inspired by pilates instructors I met in Tokyo, who carefully listened to my insecurities and opened doors for me to actually solve my rooted physical problems. I wanted this brand to be innovative and empowering to those who want to reform the foundation of their bodies.
Rounded rectangle elements are inspired by the shape of a reformer machine and restructuring bone to be lined up straight and tight and meshing well together.
