The Rookies Entry - 2024 Matte Painting

Firstly, I'd like to present my demoreel showcasing a selection of matte paintings that I've created over the course of my studies.

The latest DMP I've worked on is a fanmade ad for the Valencian Fùtbol Academy (VCF Academy). The goal was to go out of my comfort zone (which are mostly movies) and create something that goes into advertising.

Fùtbol AD - Breakdown

DMP's - The Last of Us-Inspired:

Here is a showcase of fanmade matte paintings based on the "The Last of Us" franchise. The challenge was to choose a pre-existing IP and create DMP's around it. I chose this franchise, as I love the games and the show. It was really enriching working on this project!

Workflow

DMP - The Expanse-Inspired:

I dabbled into the Sci-Fi genre by making a DMP inspired by the show "The Expanse". The main tools I used for the 3D assets are Blender, 3ds-max and Marmoset. It was quite a challenge to make the camera in tune with the environment assets, but it was truly worth it.

Fan DMP - Vita Carnis:

This is based on the Analog Horror web series "Vita Carnis" invented by Darian Quilloy. I've always wanted to create something based on analog horror; so I decided to put the skills I've learned throughout the year at UA School into action. The 3D assets I created on Blender, before texturing on Substance Painter.
