Here's my graduate compositing showreel featuring my best work! There some breakdowns below as well.
Personal Showreel Project
I used this project to work on my keying skills as I knew it's an essential skill for junior compositors and it wasn't something I haven't practiced much. I used the free practice footage plates provided by Action VFX . To make the chase sequence more believable, I had to retime the background footage and graded it to match the colour and brightness of the sky shown in the reflection of the car. Once the foreground and background felt seamless, I added additional elements like the muzzle flash, additional reflections and light interaction, etc.
Final Year Film| Peckasso
I was responsible for the plate prep, compositing and some lighting for this film. Plate prep was split between Nuke and Davinci Resolve, as I figured out how to neutralise our footage in Resolve using the colour checkers captured on-set and it turned out to have better denoising than Nuke. Lighting was done in Houdini using Solaris and all compositing was done in Nuke. No camera tracking was required for this project as all of the shots was filmed stationary. The dust mites in some of the shots was created all in Nuke using Nuke's Particle System and the dust mite shapes were created in Photoshop.
Plug socket and Clock stand-in clean up & CG Intergration
CG Intergration
Background DMP Integration, Clean up, CG Integration & Roto
For this shot, I used Nuke's CopyCat to assist with the roto due to the limited amount of time that I had to work on this shot and on top of that out actor's hair made the process difficult. It provided me with a suitable core matte for me to work with and I cleaned it up using multiple keys.
