Layout and Animation PORTFOLIO - Victor Rodriguez

Hi everyone! My name is Victor and I am from Spain, where I completed my studies in Animation & VFX at La Salle University.

Throughout my training, I have had the opportunity to be involved in all phases of animation production, which has given me a solid understanding of the creative process. However, I must admit that the previs phases and animation have been my true passion.

In the shared reel I show mostly all the work I did for the final project. Of what you will see, I have been responsible for the entire layout and animation part, among other things.

My work on the shots that can be seen in the video are:

Performing the layout, compose the image, setting up the cameras and a small blocking of the assets so that later the set dressing team could have some guidelines.

Character facial rig, exporting the metahuman face rig set to Maya and adjust it for our models and applied some traits.

Motion capture pipeline: from the preparation and recording of the animation with the actor on set, to the process of transferring the data into Maya and applying it to the rigs.

The body mocap recording was in Shogun and facial was with Unreal and LiveLinkFace. 

Polish, handkey and retake of the animations made in Maya, as bipeds as creatures.

Additionally, I collaborated on another short film called "Malas Hierbas". I had the opportunity to animate two shots using handkey, without any help from motion capture. In it, I gave life to a horde of zombies and some scared children.
