Round of applause for our sponsors

Hey, I’m Nathan Galmiche

A  third-year student at ARTFX specializing in compositing. I have a particular interest in match move. Here are three of my recent projects, showcasing my skills in set dressing, match move, modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering, and compositing.

Hope you’ll enjoy!

Solis’ Holograms

I merged live-action and CGI elements to create an immersive video sequence. Using Maya Arnold, and Nuke, I incorporated the iconic Rainbow Six agent Solis helmet onto my live image. Additionally, I added holograms in compositing while removing a distracting door and car from the scene. Managing all aspects except the neck rig, I aimed to deliver a captivating and futuristic visual experience.

The Tent

For my project, I created a nighttime tree tent environment using Maya for modeling, Arnold for rendering, and Nuke for compositing. Inspired by an illustration by Sylvain Sarrailh, I played with the contrast of warm and cool colors, using blue and orange to create an immersive atmosphere. I handled the set dressing, lighting, and compositing, paying close attention to every detail to bring this scene to life. My goal was to capture the perfect balance between the warm comfort of the tent and the surrounding coolness of the night.

American Night

I created a video featuring a soldier wearing a Halo helmet, filmed in live action. I integrated the helmet in CGI using Maya, Arnold, and Nuke, then transformed the scene into a nighttime setting, playing with warm and cool contrasts. I tracked the face to integrate the helmet and the weapon to add light. I handled all aspects except the helmet asset. This project allowed me to apply my skills in CGI integration and compositing to create an immersive experience.

Thank you for your attention.
