Hi! These are some of the drawings I have made over the last few months. Hope you like it!!
LAB 5
After finishing the 3D short film I had been working on my last year of university I wanted to continue exploring 2D projection on 3D models especially with camera movements. It occurred to me this idea of a lab as it allowed me to practice modeling and animation on top of 2d projection. Up until this moment I had only worked on smaller personal projects but, I wanted to try something different.
I projected my painting on a 3D base in Blender and fixed some of the issues that appeared with the projection on Photoshop. Then I animated the scene with grease pencil and placed everything that was left on After effects.
Studies
These are some of the studies I have been working on. Even though they are studies based on photos I took I took some artistic liberties to make the overall composition and lighting more interesting.
1H Study
I try to practice my ability to synthesize the shapes of the drawing by doing these 1h studies from time to time.
PIER
I went on vacation with some friends and the city that we visited inspired me to create a silly creature that lives in that town.
Car ride
My goal for this piece was practicing some lighting variations, so chose a road scene. I decided to make a cloudy day with no direct sunlight and to add more interest to the night scene, I chose the car headlight as the main source of light.
A crime has been written
I aimed to create a small crime scene. To direct the viewer's attention towards the character, I used the light and negative spaces. I also use this piece to practice some prop variations with the signs.
Grief
Some perspective practice I wanted to try and used as an excuse to paint a silly cat on a balcony.
Forbidden land
Practicing line drawing is something that has been on my mind for a while, so I decided to challenge myself and create a finished piece.
I tried to create some value thumbnails and see which one seemed interesting enough to develop. After deciding which one I would be working on, I tried to create unique patterns based on different types of architectures I found interesting. For the final result, I decided to create a full-color background.
