I am Nishant Thelakkat, a US-based concept artist passionate about telling stories and creating characters. I have drawn so many tales since I was a kid, and they have inspired me to pursue art as a career. To achieve my goal, I have gained experience and skills in various types of art, including 2D animation, illustration, graphic design, and concept art. In addition, I collaborated and led teams to complete projects efficiently and at a high standard. Here are some examples of work that I have done.

Cusumono

Cusumono is an Illithid who studies magic and travels the world. He uses a canister of magic energy to better channel energies for his spells. He is determined to change perceptions of his species as villainous mindflayers. For Instance, in this piece, he is channeling natural energy from the canister and using it to revitalize a tree branch. For this project, I wanted to tackle a fantasy character who was not fully human and one with a different skin texture. Done in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint, and Procreate, with some Blender for his canister.

Fantasy Characters for an Unannounced Project

I was tasked with developing these four fantasy characters for a game pitch. I worked with the director remotely and collaborated to create different character archetypes with the same consistent art style. Done in Photoshop.

Lunair Priestess

This project originally started with me creating the sword of the prompt of an elemental weapon. Once I developed the sword, I decided to design its wielder. She is a priestess who wields a scythe-like blade that can channel electric power due to a unique alloy made of steel and a magic conductive crystal, charged with an arcane gem. Done in Photoshop, Clip Studio Paint,  and Procreate.

Pilgrimage

This piece was initially designed as a desolate environment, but it eventually became a piece with mysterious elements. I used a combination of Procreate, Photoshop, and Clip Studio Paint. I did this project as part of an online group using a prompt for an environment piece.

Hover Bike

A hefty but surprisingly nimble speeder-style hover bike used by a traveler named Nocona as she travels across planets, taking the bike from place to place. Done in Photoshop and Clip Studio Paint. This was a fun vehicle to design!

Hanuman

As an Indian, I enjoyed learning about Hindu mythology. I was inspired to redesign Hanuman from the Ramayana. I did the research to have details that I could be reinterpreted. This was the reimagination of the Hindu figure. Done in Photoshop and Procreate.

Cubera

One of my favorite characters. I created this creature after using ZBrush for a different project. The Cubera was a pan-dimensional creature with telekinetic abilities. This idea rattled in my head for a long time, and I wanted to realize it fully. It was inspired a bit by the game Control and ZBrush. Enjoy! Done in Photoshop and Procreate.
