About me

I just finished my second term at Think Tank, the intermediate term. I have learned a lot so far and a lot in this project alone. When I started at think tank I only knew a little bit of basic moddeling. Whitin the first 3 weeks we surpassed the knowledge I already had. Now we are 8 months later and I have learned so much more.

About the project

For my final project of this term I decided to draw up my own concept. I had a strong feeling about what I wanted to make and I think it turned out well.

The doll has been standing there, ready for his next show, but no one has shown up for years. The room has started to fall apart around him and his strings have loosend up making him hunch a little bit, one piece has even broken off and fallen to the ground.

I have spent a good amount of my teenage years taking theater classes in an old factory. So to me it felt natural to have this show take place in an old factory as well. It was this bit of nostalgia that made this project very close to my hart

For this project I wanted to really get in to substance designer and learn how to make my own materials. so out of the 5 weeks I had for this project I took 1,5 week to really get to know designer and make all of my materials. Texturing is definitly not my favorite thing to do but I did learn a lot about it on this project.

This term we also learned about modularity and so I decided to show a little bit of it in this project as well.

The five weeks of progress

Programs I used.

Maya - modeling, unreal engine 5 - assembling and rendering, substance designer - tiling textures, substance painter - texturing the chairs, doll and windows, Illustrator - posters and flyers, after effects - animating the screens.

I had a lot of fun making this project and I hope I will have even more on my next project.
