Hi! I'm Eudald Peracaula Moner. I'm actually finishing a Master's Degree in VFX at FX Barcelona Film School.

Hi! I'm Eudald Peracaula Moner. This is my entry for Rookie Awards 2024.

I'll show you some of the works I've done during this year. All simulations, lighting, compositing and other things have been done by me, if I not specify otherwise.

I hope you like them!  

Magic Spider


The Magic Spider is my POP project. I used as reference the Harry Potter's Patronus. 

I took the model of a spider and I prepared it to do the particle simulation.

I created several layers with millions of particles to allow some to remain on the surface and others to fall off.

I have lighted with a vertical spotlight the place where the spider stands.

 As a final detail I added some sparks to make them drop particles when the paws touch the ground, as well as some ambient particles.

The composition consisted of merged layers, color correction, glow, Z-Defous, motion blur, chromatic aberration and other adjusments.

Software used: Houdini, Photoshop, Nuke & Mantra render.

The Heroe


The heroe is my RBD project. My reference is a moment that appears in an advertising video of the League of Legends World Championships 2021 in which a man impacts against a glass.

I got the character from Mixamo and modified the texture from JonnyMANSON.

I created the fracture of the glass and added some detail to the edge of the pieces. Also, I adjusted the direction of pieces to make them go to the camera.

The reflection of the glass is an image of night sky buildings that I modified and set as an Enviroment Light.

The most challenging task was to correctly light the scene to make good reflections by playing with the blue and purple lights.

For the composition I used Optical Flares to give it a final touch that I really like. I also adjusted layers, color correction, glow, Z-Defous, motion blur, chromatic aberration and other adjustments.

Software used: Houdini, Photoshop, Nuke, Optical Flares & Karma render.

Silent Incursion


Silent Incursion is my Crowds project. I took as a reference a scene from the movie DUNE Part One.

First I modeled and textured the environment. Afterwards, I modified the texture of the desert soldier I purchased from Galstyan.

Animations are from Mixamo. I edited the hands to make them grab the blade and I transitioned three animations to simulate the landing, which led me to edit directions and parts of the body of the characters.

I also had to adapt the feet of the characters to follow the irregularities of the terrain.

As a final detail I added a smoke simulation to give more power to the scene. 

The composition consisted of adding layers, sky, color correction, brightness, Z-Defous, motion blur, chromatic aberration and other adjustments.

Software used: Maya, Houdini, Substance 3D Painter, Nuke & Mantra render.
