DISCOVERING

Hi, I am Andres Martinez. I am in my second year to study Architectural Visualization. I want to thank all my professors from Butic The New School that taught me about 3ds Max, VRay, Unreal Engine and others softwares.

LOVELL INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Lovell International School is built in Thailand, I discovered it from archdaily website and the first time I saw it I wanted to model it in 3ds max and Unreal Engine.

Softwares, plugins, scripts I used:

3ds Max, Rail Clone, Floor Generator, Substance Painter, Substance Designer, Gaea, Unreal Engine, Niagara, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere.

Now, I´ll show you how I made the Project process in 3ds max, as I was modeling for space and buildings.

SUBSTANCE PAINTER

I created some materials in substance painter, the next render is materialized with it.

SUBSTANCE DESIGNER

CONCRETE

ASPHALT

ALUMINIUM

SEASONS

To this Project I used the image from Per Carlsen. I modified it then to give it me own mood and represent each season of the year.

I model in 3ds Max and continue in Unreal Engine for materialized, illumination, camera and sequencer. Finished in After Effects and Premiere.

WORK MADE THE LAST YEAR

For the new projects, I did the modeling in 3ds Max and render with VRay.

The software I used: 3ds Max, VRay, Forest Pack, Rail Clone, Phoenix FD, Photoshop, After Effects.

CANADA MUSEUM

This Project I saw in archdaily. I liked it because it is surrounded by nature but I gave my personal touch to the Forest and generation of terrain with the Blend Material and the Vertex Color as my main allies, which in turn I usually use in all my projects. Using the RailClone has also helped me a lot. And the generation of materials I love experimenting with Quixel Mixer and being able to generate materials from others so that I can apply them to my rocks or terrain. Like Gaea for the generation of the modeling of the terrain on which the above is based.

The above image is the vertex paint material in 3ds max with VRay

LIVE ON THE MOON - SALVADOR DALI (PAINTER)

Dedicated to Salvador Dali as inspiration, I took this painting of his to 3d. It was a very fun project. I used the IVY tool to generate vines and Blend Material with Vertex Color in different channels so that I could paint each material on the surfaces.

Gaea for generation of the frontal mountains.

Painter: Salvador Dalí

GARGOYLE

I chose a gargoyle model from Notre Damme Cathedral for the organic modeling project. When I saw the gargoyle, I immediately wanted to try make it with the organic modeling tools of 3ds Max. I loved the configuration of the material of the gargoyle using the Blend Material with many masks to pass through them other materials with other mappings and textures.

THE SHINING

Inspired by the movie The Shining. Elevator scene helped me to practice the Phoenix tool.

RESTING

This was my first Project in this 3d Artist world. I am so happy I found it. The process has been gorgeous and it still is, because I can never say it has been enough.

In this project I learned to manage Rail Clone, Forest and Gaea.

Thank you so much for looking at my work, which I know I can keep improving with more an more practice, which I am very excited about! I hope you enjoyed it too!
