Generalist Showreel

Here's my generalist showreel, showcasing my best pieces of work from the last three years! I couldn't fit everything in a single showreel, so I've made a few discipline specific ones to showcase other skills below, I hope you enjoy!

Lighting & Compositing

All lighting except for the last piece was created using Solaris in Houdini, rendered in Karma, and composited in Nuke. The last piece was lit in Unreal Engine 5, and small fixes done in Nuke.

Groom & Lookdev

All groom work was done with Houdini, then exported to Solaris for lookdev and rendering in Karma.

Rigging & Pipeline

The rigging & pipeline for the first two pieces was created as a proof of concept for the Royal Veterinary College as part of a summer internship between my second and third year at university. I used the video photogrammetry that was captured on-set to create extra motion capture dots that I then transferred to the rig that I'd made. The same process was done with the dragonfly, except voxel carving was used to capture the shape of the wings, which was then turned into motion capture data for animation.

For the texture dithering tool, I was inspired by Untold Studio's "Hair Properties" tool. I wanted to recreate it to work in other render engines such as Karma or Redshift, for use in my final year film at university. By making it work on a SOP level, I was able to export out the attributes into a separate USD lookdev file for layering into the other scenes, so I only had to update it once for the rest of the scenes to get any new changes I'd made.
